Camping – there is nothing more fun and relaxing than spending time with family and friends in the great outdoors. Minnesota offers plenty of great parks to get out and experience Minnesota at its best. Weather you enjoy the prairies, the forest, or the water you can find it all within a short drive in Minnesota.
I volunteer with the Minnesota DNR‘s projects Wet, Wild, and Learning Tree so have seen first hand what the wonder of nature does to its first time participants. There is so much to wonder and explore. The best part is that its right at our backdoor.
This program is a great way to try camping and see what sorts of equipment you might need, and also to see what parts of camping you like best. Does anyone not like the smores? How can you go wrong with a sandwich made of graham crackers, chocolate and a roasted marshmallow that you personally cooked over the open camp fire. I promise that memories will be made!
