Fall is technically still here and yet we are beginning to see signs of winter. I saw a truck with a large plow on the front in Stacy, Minnesota this evening. Earlier today I took a few minutes to catch up on twitter and in doing so was surprised to see dates up for the Holidazzle Parade.
If you have not yet put the family in the car and headed down to Minneapolis for this fun event, you are really missing out. It has been a few years since we have made the trek, but I think this winter is the year to put this fun event on my calendar again.
Parades begin November 25th and go through December 18, 2011. They will be held every evening Thursday – Sunday. Parade begins promptly at 6:30 and lasts about 30 minutes.
If you want a true Minnesota experience this is it. The Holidazzle is done in the dark and the floats are all lit up with lights. So are the people, bands, and the 200+ costumed characters. There is music and always some great grand marshals to wave at.
If this sounds like the activity for your family, head to the Nicollet Mall from 12th – 4th Street. There are some amazing seats along the route and I did not yet mention this, but its FREE to attend! Bring some hot cocoa and a blanket or two and enjoy! Maybe I will see you there!
